Nystagmus is an eye condition whereby the eyes move involuntarily and beyond control. Also, known by the name of dancing eyes, eyes can show movement as
- Horizontal nystagmus:side to side
- Vertical nystagmus:up and down
- Rotary nystagmus: rotary
This movement of eyes can be present in one or both eyes and can range from slow to fast.
A person suffering from this condition tends to feel better when he tilts or turns his head in certain positions.
This helps him see better as at certain angles the uncontrollable movement is reduced.
Nystagmus may also make it difficult for a person to adjust socially as either he may be chastised for his shaky eyes or he may himself feel conscious.
Apart from affecting the physical appearance, in time a person may also develop mental and emotional breakdown.
Various conventional treatments such as lenses, surgery, or head movements though can provide relief but only for a short duration.
Holistic treatments such as homeopathy considers a patient’s overall state before prescribing remedies such that he feels an overall well-being.
